DEmigOD by Jamiu Ahmed

DEmigOD

parching sun today
freezing cold tomorrow
what a fuzzy weather?
cursed by unruly ego
to rule out the world

at work, in the morning
his eyes are embers

his mind; a hearth
of burning thoughts
& flaming expressions

his mouth; a crater
home of fireworks

with the wrath of a sea —
maddened red fury
raging wild like a thunder;

Fist clenched
teeth gnashing
like gear wheels

he said:

“clean my shoes !!!”

 “lick my shits !!!”

“with your fucking tongue !!!”

handmaid shivering
like water lettuce
blown by heavy winds

“eskimi sir”

“oga abegi sir”

ahhhh!

eru mani babaona malo jinn

“please don't nail me on this “do or die” cross”

parching sun today
freezing cold tomorrow
what a fuzzy weather?
cursed by unruly ego
to rule out the world

at home, in the night
He's Ikogosi spring
in tumultuous agitation
bottled up hot & cold
brawling & haggling
with the cook's fingers
over unsavory spice

heated arguments
become fried plantain
frying from frypan to fire

to the eyes staring in fright:

“shut up and listen to me !!!”
“fucking do as I say !!!”

wife on hushed night
like a muted trumpet
bowing to god's voice

“yes I do sir”

children; watching
the wonders & magic
of their lord — father.

              mig

his feet; a shrine
of unwilling
worshippers

parching sun today
freezing cold tomorrow
what a fuzzy weather?
cursed by unruly ego
to rule out the world
