STOLEN GLORY by Jamiu Ahmed

STOLEN GLORY

Have you not seen?
How the nation is drowning?
How the youth are frowning?
How the masses are crying?
How the people are dying?

Have you not seen?
How the destiny of my nation,
Was imprisoned by the miscreant of few.
How the fate of my nation,
Was splattered by the peril drops of dew.

Have you not seen?
How the demons behind the graveyard,
Emblem with glittery fangs that sting,
Made bucks the prey buried without wing,
And Rob off the daily bread in the yard.

Have you not seen?
How the people of my nation,
Are dying of hunger and starvation,
Empty hopes they feed on everyday,
Flesh eating itself in another way.

Have you not seen???
How the people scavenge on fossil of the rock,
The farm owners now eat leftovers of the honey grains,
The cow rearers now feed on bones of sour pork,
The draught of mind piercing rain that lingers with pains.

Have you not seen?
How they found education of the youth so irrelevant,
They burnt our books and shelves to feel important,
Education is the key to unlock the safe of success,
But out of greed, they change the lock to recess.

Have you not seen?
Have you not heard of the raving surge?
Of how this nation was plunged to hell,
A sweltering vacuum of dungeon,
Was I made for this??? they yell!

Have you not seen?
How people of this nation are building a long wall?
Tribalism in between painted portion of our fence,
Our new guild lines is Divided we stand, united we fall
Defending the existing unity is now an offence.

Have you not seen?
How death toil and took life with thorn?
People now die in abyss due to forlorn,
Brothers jumping into the arms of dead sea,
Over the lots they have lived to see.

Have you not seen?
How the yesterday's stolen glory,
Is now today's naked dance in the market,
The unravel tomorrow's haunting story,
Of how this nation was rob off her blanket.
