SILENCE IS A GRAVE by Jamiu Ahmed

 SILENCE IS A GRAVE

Let me speak not:

Of this dead night that seems like a graveyard
Of my baffled eyes rummaging the room walls
Of my metal-lips way too heavy to open up
Of this chain holding my tongue, hands & legs
Of thousand voices echoing in my head like siren
I have lost my own voice like a muffled drum
So I dare not speak of nights that engulfed the moon
For silence is a grave — a six feet hole I fell into
Each time I feel I'm alive, but I'm dying bit by bit.
